Amy Lou Christensen Peterson was born on August 18, 1961, in Richfield, Utah, to Quinn Arlie Christensen and Betty Lou Hunt Christensen. She grew up in Central Utah, where she developed a strong connection with her Mormon faith and community.
In 1989, Amy graduated from Brigham Young University (BYU) with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. After completing her education, she began her career as a registered nurse, dedicating herself to caring for others.
On April 17, 1992, Amy married Justin Peterson in the Salt Lake Temple. Their union was blessed with four beautiful children: Sarah, Emily, Michael, and Thomas. The family resided together in a loving home filled with joy and laughter.
Amy's passion for nursing continued throughout her life, and she made a significant impact on the lives of countless patients. Her dedication and compassionate nature earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and those she cared for.
Amy's faith played a vital role in her life, and she was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). She served in various callings and leadership positions within the church and was known for her strong testimony and unwavering commitment to her beliefs.
In her free time, Amy enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and reading. Her love for nature and the outdoors often inspired her to take long walks and appreciate the beauty around her.
On April 9, 2024, Amy passed away peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Her passing left a profound impact on those who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on through the memories she created and the lives she touched during her time on earth.
Amy is survived by her husband, Justin; their four children, Sarah, Emily, Michael, and Thomas; and her parents, Quinn and Betty Lou Christensen. She is preceded in death by her grandparents and other beloved family members.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Amy's life and honor her memory. Details regarding the service will be shared with the family and friends in due course. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Amy's name.
