'Dandu Lena' to retain status as national animal

Minister of Agriculture - Mahinda Amaraweera has said that discussions to delist the Grizzled giant squirrel (known as the 'Dandu Lena' by locals), have been discontinued. The decision was made over the opposition raised by the society. Speaking to media, the minister had said they shouldn't beckon any unnecessary trouble. Related News :  Will the 'Dandu Lena' lose its status as national animal?
