Man airlifted to hospital after Rottnest crash

On August 28, 2021, a man was airlifted to hospital after crashing his bicycle on Rottnest Island near Perth. The incident occurred at around 3:45 pm local time and involved a 47-year-old male cyclist who had been riding along the island's main road when he lost control of his bike and crashed into a tree.

According to reports, the man suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash, including head trauma, a broken leg, and multiple cuts and bruises. He was transported by helicopter to Royal Perth Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical attention.

The cause of the crash is not yet known, but it is believed that the man may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Police are investigating the matter and have appealed for witnesses to come forward with any information they may have.
