Visual Studio Code cannot Detect Git Branches

When using Visual Studio code to develop an application that is in a local repository, sometimes VS Code does not detect the git initialized in that repository. What might be going on is that, other applications are actively synched in the same repository.

Solution:
  1. Check to see if other applications e.g. Other Git Clients are utilizing the same repository at the same time. If yes, then close those applications.
  2. Check to see if the local Server is consuming the same application, if yes, then stop the local Server.
  3. After steps,1 and 2 are verified, start a new window in VS Code and navigate to recent projects from the main window. On the main Recent Projects window, click on the URL indicating the project you want VS Code to detect Git. There you have it.
