Access Database Over Limit Of 2GB

Some Access Databases become nonfunctional when they hit the limit of 1.99 MB or let's just say 2GB. In this case, when you work in a data warehousing industry you know that, because of dependencies on other engines, this starts to create problems. In order to solve this, just open up the database and check Compact and Repair On Close setting. Mostly, this check box is in File Option Window. In short, just compact the Access database file, there is no need to create a new one or restore with a backup smaller file.

Compacting and Repairing is more like Shrinking a Database in SQL server which is not advisable because it kills performance of the indexes.
